January in a Nutshell

January was a whirl wind, I kind of think life just flies faster ever single year whether we are ready for it or not. We went to the rest of Ry's girls games, they finished out the season pretty well with some minor parent drama, I think this is the first year he has had so much drama with his team. Cooper loved watching the games, he would clap and cheer and yell "shooot"; he also enjoyed running up and down the bleachers and pushing the limits to see just how far I would let him go. He's becoming quite the little stinker when it comes to rules and limits, he pushes and pushes and knows exactly what he's doing, then he'll look back at me with his little mischevious grin, like "what are you going to do about it Mom?"

We went bowling with our good friends, the Hales, we were only two or three frames in and Ashlyn tripped on the step up to the lane and split her chin open. While Nic was looking at her and Lauren was trying to comfort, I grabbed some ice and Ry and I watched the boys while Nic went to stitch Ash up. We still had a blast, but felt so bad for little Ash. Jackson thought it was pretty cool because he's got a scar on his chin, so they were walking around saying that they are twinners, sibling love, so cute!

January was still pretty bitter cold and being outside was usually pretty shortlived. We went sledding with our buddies and Coop kept saying "nahnen" (again) the kids probably would've continued sledding all night despite the runny noses turning into icicle formations. Coop loved making tracks in the "no" (with a long "n" sound, snow) he was so cute in his snow gear, and when he'd fall he couldn't get up because of all the layers. As soon as we were done and I got him loaded in the truck all he said until we got home was "cocoa peeeez" he loves cocoa more than milk, which is a lot!

As I've said earlier, Ry is on a huge bowling kick, he plays in a league every Thursday night and the league is thirty two weeks long. Yes, sometimes I think I married an eighty year old, but he loves it and since he doesn't play basketball in city league it gives him something semi active to do.
We went bowling with the Wildes, Coop and Hazen were obsessed with the ramp and ran up and down just about the entire time we were there.

Coop loves my heated blankets and Ry started a tradition that on the weekends, either Saturday or Sunday, sometimes both, we watch a Disney movie together. Coop is a huge fan of this, and I think we have finally broken the streak of Cooper only wanting to watch Cars.

Coop and Nana are buddies, they play chase from the living room to Cooper's room every night. Coop will ask to let Nana in and then he'll say "chase meee" and then he giggles while they run and run. I'm glad Nana plays with him because I think Coop has got an energizer battery, he would play chase all day long, and I do not have an energizer batter for that. He loves "mow mow" and every time he sees Missy Rae he gets excited and says "mow mow treat" so we have to get the kitty treats down and he sets them down in a line on the kitchen floor for her, it's pretty dang cute.
Cooper got sick four more times in January, once throwing up and fever, twice with a cough, runny nose and fever and then again with another ear infection. I hope this kid is building a super strong immune system because it feels like he would get sick two or three days after getting better.
He's always loved baths and that love is just growing, he asks for baths multiple times a day, most of the time I tell him he needs to wait until after dinner, but sometimes he will get two because I can't resist the "baa peeeez momma" I know I'm kind of a softie sometimes.

Coop loves to run around in just his underwear, or just his hat and boots and underwear, good thing we have a roaring fire almost everyday or he would freeze his little bum off. He has become obsessed with climbing anything and everything, the kid has no fear, he will say "fall" and that means i'm going to free fall off of this high place so you better catch me. He makes me nervous and I'll be surprised if we make it to his second birthday with no broken bones with this little dare devil.
I

Coop loves watching things out the window, he listens for the firetruck and ambulance to come by and makes siren noises and yells their name "blam blam" (ambulance) "hireruck" (firetruck). He also loves Tuesday morning when the "gawb" (garbage truck) and recycle come, he crawls up in the bay window and waits for them to come. He still lines his cars up and pushes them down the slide, he absolutely loves when Ry comes home. They get really wild together, which is good I guess, since I don't get wild with him.
There was a lot of couch and movie time in January, he would go in and out of sleep while watching Cars, poor little bug.

My girlfriend, Lauren, and I went to Utah one Saturday for a shopping day. The roads were horrible on the way down since we just got a huge blizzard rage through, but we were both bound and determined to get out of the house and get a day of shopping in while both of our hubbies were home to be with the kids. Lauren isn't the greatest snow driver, she admits it, so I took over once we got Ogden area.
We got lots of shopping in, some delicious food, and of course, the trip wouldn't be complete without a little chocolate!

I swear most of my pictures this month were of Coop laying on me or the couch with a sick, sad face. This was one of the nights that he was up throwing up non stop, it was awful, and I hate more than anything to see my baby sick. Hopefully no more sickness and an iron clad immune system are in our cards, at least for a while, because between the sadness of my sick babe, the laundry and the not leaving the house, I am done with it.

19 Months Old

19 Month Old Facts:
  • You climb on everything that you can get to, your slide, the couches, the window, our bed, chairs, literally everything.
  • You are quite the little chatter box; from the time you wake up until the time you go to bed you're like your Momma, non-stop talk. I love it, you are picking up new words daily and I can't even count how many you have in your vocabulary now, we are quite impressed with you.
  • I can finally feel confident in saying that you are 100% potty trained, way to go buddy, Momma and Daddy are SOOO proud of you, you've done great! Youe wake up from most of your naps dry and still sleep in a diaper, but all day you do great. You will either run straight to the bathroom if you have to go or you will tell us "potty" or "pee/poo" usually you use your verbal cues when we are somewhere you don't know as well as home.
  • You have become even more affectionate than normal, you love giving us kisses and loves!
  • You are completely obsessed with Disney Pixar's Cars; you have probably watched it almost a hundred times.
  • You have been testing out volume and pitch with your voice, its SO funny, you do this lots when we lay you down for naps. You yell or squeal different words, sometimes I just sit and listen and laugh.
  • You are more and more independent each day, holding our hand is a thing of the past, and if we need you to hold our hand (ie when walking in the road or parking lot) it's a small battle.
  • You have started to say "set go" when you want us to say "ready set go" so you can push your cars and dumptruck from the living room to your room. You are super fast, you definitely got you Daddy's running speed, that did not come from me.
  • You have started to "feed" or pretend feed things in books and your toys, it's so cute, you'll say "share" while you do it, so sweet.
  • You are starting to learn your colors, you can point when asked what each color is, but when we ask you what color something is you say "greeee" (green) everything is green.
  • You have had four ear infections since Thanksgiving, hopefully you are done with them.
  • You are starting to be opinionated about your clothes and have started to take clothes out of your drawers that you want to wear, so i've started just giving you a choice between two outfits so you aren't wearing a pajama top with jeans and snowboots.
  • You have discovered the fun of walking backward, and when you do it you say "baaaa" and grin, you think you're pretty funny.
  • You become more of a joy every single day, you've got quite a personality and we LOVE you SO much Cooper!
