Sunshine, Rain, and Memorial Day Weekend

I got Coop a little baby pool and Nana a big plastic pool since they both LOVE the water. Coop could literally spend hours in the water, doesn't matter bath or pool, he loves it. Nana is always looking for water, we have a big plastic pool for her and when the sprinklers are on she runs through them. Nana has already developed her "nanny dog" personality, she follows Cooper everywhere and always has an eye on him, it's pretty sweet.
As you can see Nana sitting right next to the pool...
Coop is quite independent as is into everything, he will pull all of his books of his bookshelf and then sit and look through them forever. He does the same with the DVD's which makes me crazy, I feel like all I do all day is clean up his messes, but I know he's having fun with and I guess that's what is important.

He loves to play with Dad's hats and LOVES to stand in his crib, we had to lower it one notch from the lowest setting. We had to start sleep training him because now that he has started to stand in his crib he thinks it's playtime not naptime or bed time so falling asleep has become a challenge. It only took one night of letting him cry which took a little over an hour and was torture for us. I got in the bath with a book so I wouldn't be tempted to go in and get him. Ry was watching basketball and came in at least five times to see if I thought he should go get him. Although that first night was rough it has been back to heaven ever since.

Getting him to hold still for any picture these days is pretty much out of the question. I cannot believe he's eleven months old!! Time really has flown faster than I ever imagined it would have and I have loved every single second of being a Mom. Coop is almost walking, he is cutting four more teeth, his other incisors and his canines on either side of his front top incisors. I made some popsicles for him thinking that would help but he can't quite figure out if he likes it or not, I guess we'll keep trying.

MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND 2012

As with almost every single Memorial Weekend it was rainy almost the entire weekend so we spent most of the time in the trailer which was a bit of a bummer, but we still had fun. It was Cooper's first camping trip and he did pretty well, he slept with Ry and I and was perfect.
Coopy's first time to Mesa Falls, he was pretty interested in it.
We went to Mesa Falls when there was a small break in the rain and then headed over to West Yellowstone where we wandered the shops. Ry got himself a candy bar while I was with my mom and Mareesa and said "Cooper picked out a twix bar for himself" and I said "did hw? well, I hope he's just carrying it for you and not eating it" Ry continued to say that my Dad was carrying Coop under a blanket and it was still in the wrapper so not to worry. A few minutes later I hear my Dad say, he's got something, and I uncovered him and he had chewed a hole in the wrapper, had chocolate all over his face and was drooling like crazy. So this is the story of his first taste of chocolate, I had to laugh despite how grumpy I was that Ry let him "pick out a candy for himself".
Coop loves his Auntie Mareesa; getting ready for bed and reading our  bed time stories.
The last day of our weekend was ironically nice, of course. We went down to the river and fished for a while, my first cast I got some bites and then a few casts after that I got a bad snag and decided to let Ry take care of my pole while I read and hung out with Coop.
My sweet nugget grabbing for the camera...
Ry and my Dad fishing...
The only day it didn't rain, the girls and Coop.

Coop having a piggy shoulder ride with Gammie, he loves it.
We stopped at my Grandma's grave, this his first time there.
Four generation picture.

We had a great weekend and are hoping that next time we go up to Warm River it will actually be warm.

Mother's Day

My first Mother's Day was absolutely perfect! Ry made this book from him and Coop, it has something for each letter and lots of pictures, it is the best gift i've ever recieved, I will definitely cherish if forever!

McKaid was supposed to be "calling" at 8:00AM, so we were out to my parents bright and early. My Dad and Mareesa made crepes with strawberries and whipped cream, mine and my Mom's favorite breakfast, so Ry got off easy this year in the breakfast in bed department. McKaid didn't end up skyping until about 10:00AM, he looked great and is doing so well. He just got transferred to Namibia and had only been there three days when we talked to him. He said that it looks a lot like Idaho, very dry and desert like. He said the members there are the best member missionaries he has ever experienced his entire mission and that they constantly have member referrals. It was his first time seeing Cooper, and I wish I would have been videoing it, it was SO cute. Kaid almost squealed when he saw him, he said "OH, Meg he is so cute" and then he introduced himself as his favorite uncle, it was so sweet, I can't wait for them to meet in person! Kaid's release date is September 13th, he had the option of coming home early for school and he chose to stay for the full time. He told us he would feel like he didn't fufill his whole mission if he came home early, he's such a great example and I can see how much he's grown spiritually. I'm so proud of him and can't wait for September to roll around!!

My sweet little bug snuggling me for Mother's day, LOVE him! Ry had to leave toward the end of our conversation with Kaid to go teach our Sunday school class, Mareesa went to church and we said bye to Kaid and my parents went to Johnny's homecoming (he's good friends with McKaid and served in the Congo). By that time it was Coop's naptime so I let him nap and took one myself and after everyone got home we went up to wish my grandma a Happy Mother's day and then to Ry's Mom's to wish her one as well.

Four Generations...Best Mother's day to date!

My Super Hero

Coop is becoming increasingly more mobile by the day. He pulls himself up on everything, he scales furniture, and Lauren gave him this toy which he is now obsessed with. The other day Coop was doing is bum walk and got up into a bear crawl position and stood for a couple seconds by himself, and then he realized he was standing by himself and promptly went back to his bum walk.

Coop doesn't really let me feed him anymore so we've had to get creative on his eating since he's so independent. Today was cottage cheese pancakes and blueberry smoothie, which he obviously fed himself. Coop doesn't like me to tear his food into chunks anymore either, he's quite opinionated already, should I be worried?

Our friends Jackson and Kolton had a Super Hero birthday party at the beginning of May. Coop and Kolt spent most of their time in the baby jump house. Aren't they adorable?!

Dad cuddling his little Superman...

Coop wanting to get back into the jump house...

He loves when Ry throws him, his laugh is completely infectious!

He's so close to walking and will walk around all day if i'm holding his hands.

Seriously can't get enough of him!

Lauren did a great job at the party, most of the kids came in costume, which obviously I loved! Luckily I got the memo a few days before that just the kids were dressing up because Ry and I were fully prepared to come in our super hero outfits, Ry would have murdered me. They had stations for the kids on "how to be a super hero" and prepare them to "fight" bad guys.

Ry and I hung out with Coop and Kolt most of the party and the party definitely ended with a "bang". Nic dressed up as the Hulk and all the kids learned in their super hero training to shoot the bad guys with silly string, well when Nic came out growling at them most of them ran away screaming and crying...it was seriously hilarious!

After the party I had to hurry out to my parents to do Mareesa's hair and makeup for her Junior Prom. I could never get the boutineer on either, Archie to the rescue, everytime!

She looked beautiful and had a wonderful time!

Fun in the Sun

We have taken full advantage of the few warm days that we have had. My girlfriend, Jen, had a baby pool party with a bunch of little ones. It was nice to just relax with all the other mom's and watch our cute little ones play.

Coop sharing his umbrella with LaJae, so cute.
I didn't think Coop would actually want to get in the water when we got there, but suprisingly he was the only one who got in and did not want to get out. It was quite the battle when I got him out to go home, he was not happy.

Crazy hair day! Cooper has already had three hair cuts and I think he's already ready for another one.

Nana is already bigger than Coop, she had her first check up with our vet for her second round of vaccinations and she weighed 28 pounds, she was 17 when we got her, she's going to be massive!

It's becoming increasingly harder to take close up pictures of Coop because he gets a death grip onto the camera safety strap. But I just love this little face, look at those apple cheeks!!

I don't know why I even bother buying dog toys or toys for Coop. Cooper is one hundred percent satisfied with my swiffer, water bottles, spatulas, all the dog toys, and basically anything other than his toys. Nana has a ton of toys, (the dog trainer told me the more toys she had the less she would chew on other things,) but she has found a pair of my favorite heels, ruined three pairs of flip flops, shredded magazines, she is also obsessed with water bottles. But it is very cute to see them playing together, Nana is already very protective of Coop and Coop smothers Nana to pieces and she lets him.

Our Newest Family Addition

No we are not pregnant despite the message lots of people got from both Ryan and my facebook status---we got a puppy!!! Her name is Nana, she's named after the Newfoundland on Peter Pan and she is such a sweet dog. We wanted to wait to get a dog until we got a house and Ry found a breeder in Nampa that just had a litter of Newfoundlands and we decided to get one. We were second in line to choose which one we got and lucky for us we got the one we wanted! Newfies are the sweetest, most laid back, best family and kid dog you could own. Cooper is already in love with her and she is very fond of her little Coop.

Hanging out together outside and loving it!!!
Nana is always thirsty, she's got the softest, thickest fur, she's going to LOVE winter.
Isn't that face adorable?! She's doing great with her crate training and listens well, she starts puppy kindergarten next week.

Her paws are gigantic!!! Her dad weighs 180 pounds and her mom was 150 pounds, so she's going to be a BIG girl!

With the early onset of this nice weather we have been able to golf a bit. We went to the driving range with our friends, the Hales. Coop thought it was hilarious to feed Ry the golf balls, Coop's obsession with balls has only increased the past few weeks and months.

He must think his stroller is quite delicious...

Coop, Ash, Jackson, and Kolty...all best buddies, they are the sweetest, we're lucky to have them so close so our kids can grow up together, and we love their parents too, which is always a plus.
